A new paper, Exploratory Bandit Experiments with “Starter Packs” in a Free-to-Play Mobile Game, has been published in the 2024 IEEE Conference on Games (CoG) proceedings. The paper explores the application of bandit methods for assigning “starter packs” to new players in a free-to-play mobile game, providing insights into the application of bandit algorithms to enhance player engagement and revenue generation.

The paper was co-authored by Dr. Julian Runge, researcher at Northeastern University and Principal Scientist at Game Data Pros, Anders Drachen of the SDU Metaverse Lab at the University of Southern Denmark, and Bill Grosso, founder of Game Data Pros.
